Today we are proud to carry out welfare activities in the field of EDUCATION, HEALTH and WOMEN EMPOWERMENT under the able guidance of Sh. Raj Kumar, the current Chairman of the Delhi branch.

The Foundation stone of our Society was laid in 1956 by Dr.Rajendra Prasad, first President of India.

Delhi branch is housed in the same complex, located opposite to Moolchand metro station, Lajpat Nagar-IV, New Delhi.
Our first Chairman of the Delhi Branch – Late Shri Sevak Ram Ji started an innovative donation scheme known as “Mushti Dan”. The General public was encouraged to contribute not only cash but in kind by way of their unwanted used items.
EDUCATION
The Delhi Branch runs two Senior Secondary Schools, one which is aided has approximately 1000 children and the other one is entirely funded on our own having around 2000 students. The main feature of these schools is that we not only cater to poor and lower middle class section of the society, but more than 400 children with special needs get education and help in mainstreaming enjoy the reputation of not only 100% success in academics but also in extra-curricular activities.
School for Slum children
Apart from this, another wing, Sisters of People Society runs 18 Balwadis (School for the underprivileged children) supporting 1000 children in the age group of 3 to 5 years, in accordance with Government norms, teaching follows the prescribed play way method and is carefully monitored by well qualified monitors. In these Balwadis children are provided a free set of books, which help them master numbers, Hindi & English alphabets, poems, nursery rhymes and practical training is also given in Art & Craft. They are provided mid meals. The Idea is to prepare these children to get absorbed in the mainstream of society without much handicap. Education and learning is free of cost and they remain in a clean environment for the major part of the day, whilst their mothers work in part time jobs.

HEALTH
Our centre provides one allopathic polyclinic having all the common specialities like – Eye, E.N.T., Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Psychiatry, Dermatology and Dental clinic. Many poor and low income group persons receive the benefit of Consultation and three days of medicines from these experienced Doctors by paying a small registration charge of Rs.30/-.
We also provide facilities like – X-ray, Path Lab, Ultra-sound and Physiotherapy at subsidized rates. In exceptionally poor patients all the diagnostic facility is provided absolutely FREE.
Poor T.B. patients are taken care of under D.O.T. Therapy.
In addition to allopathic treatment we also have a very qualified Homeopathy doctor, who provides treatment at subsidized rates to the patients.
Our Naturopathy department is fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure to provide patients requiring alternative ways of treatment including acupressure and natural treatment. This is further supported by a Gymnasium.
About two decades back the then Chairman Shri Sevak RamJi thought of providing dignity to some poor but able ladies with some constructive work. It was his initiative that some ladies were asked to grind MASALAS by hand and we facilitate the sale of these masalas from our premises. Today their efforts and the foresight of the management have resulted into a flourishing business and these ladies are now being provided with not only Basic Minimum Wage decided by the Government from time to time, but also facilities like Provident Fund and E.S.I coverage.
In addition, we also have a scheme of helping widows in rehabilitation, pension, child education, daughter’s marriage etc.
Nevertheless, whatever we have achieved has been due to three major factors:
1. Donations from individuals and Corporate
3. Dedicated staff
We solicit your support in terms of not only DONATIONS, but we welcome social workers giving their valuable time for service of society.
